  1. What cruise options are available for travellers from the UK?

UK travellers have loads of cruising options right on their doorstep. Ships depart from major ports like Southampton, Dover, Liverpool and Newcastle to sun-soaked destinations like the Mediterranean, Canaries, Spain and Portugal. Alternatively, head north to experience the beauty of the Norwegian Fjords, quaint Scandinavian towns and the Baltic.

If you prefer to stay local, check out itineraries that travel around England, Ireland, Scotland and the Scottish Highlands. Looking for something further afield? Our team of Travel Experts can assist with booking flights to the Caribbean, the Americas, Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, from which you can begin your cruising adventures.

  1. What’s included in the cruise fare?

Cruises are fantastic value because almost everything is included in the one price. As a rule of thumb, your cruise fare will include accommodation, all meals at select restaurants, onboard facilities like swimming pools and fitness centres, plus entertainment for the whole family.

Beyond that, a few things can incur extra charges like specialty restaurants, drinks, spa treatments and some activities. Typically, Wi-Fi and tips are at an extra cost too. Specific inclusions may vary based on the cruise line, stateroom selection and package booked. Chat with your booking agent to confirm what’s included in your itinerary.

  1. Are there any budget-friendly cruises for UK travellers?

Of course! There are a wide variety of cruises that offer affordable packages for travellers from the UK. Keep your eyes peeled for travel during off-peak seasons, as well as deals that offer bonus room credit and discounts during sale periods.

  1. What travel documents do UK travellers need for international cruising?

A passport with at least six months’ validity from your return date is essential. Beyond that, visas, visa waivers, or an electronic travel authority (ETA) may be required depending on the cruise itinerary and the passport you’re travelling on.

For up-to-date and accurate information on which countries UK travellers require visas or documentation for, please check the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Alternatively, contact the relevant embassy directly.

  1. Can I book cruises for large groups or events?

Absolutely! A cruise is perfect for a group holiday, work trip or to celebrate an important milestone. In fact, we have a specialist team of Group Travel Experts who can help wrangle all the travellers, sort out the nitty gritty details, and even organise extras like a special dinner or bottle of Champagne on arrival.

Get in touch with Flight Centre’s Group Travel Experts online, or head in store and one of our agents will gladly assist with planning that epic group trip.

  1. How can I find out about onboard activities and entertainment?

Once onboard, you'll receive a daily schedule of activities. Usually, the schedule for the following day will be left in your cabin by staff when they clean the room. Many modern cruise ships also have onboard digital screens that will display the day’s events or a mobile app you can download to keep track. On some journeys, for example when sailing with Regent, you can make restaurant reservations several months in advance.

Keen for an idea of what to expect before you go? Take a look at the individual cruise ship pages on our website or visit the cruise line’s site for a sneak peek.

  1. I have specific dietary or accessibility needs. Can these be accommodated?

Yes, most cruise lines will cater to your specific needs to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable holiday. For dietary requirements, many ships have multiple restaurants with different menus that may meet your needs. Our Travel Experts can also put through specific requests and instructions before you leave.

Accessible cabins are available on most ships and need to be booked in advance. We can also work with you to assess deck plans and accessibility options to find the right ship to suit your needs.

  1. I’m looking for more information about booking cruise, where should I go?
