Thrilling activities, delicious dining, plush staterooms and even robotic bartenders – don’t worry about getting bored on Quantum of the Seas. The largest cruise ship ever to sail in Australian waters (at just under a metre longer than sister ship Ovation of the Seas), this is truly an outsized adventure.

Quantum of the Seas was the first of the Quantum Class ships. Launching in 2014 it introduced many of the first-at-sea features that have become synonymous with Royal Caribbean, like the Flowrider surf simulator, North Star observation pod, and Ripcord by iFly, the only skydiving simulator at sea. Scale the rock climbing wall, ride the bumper cars, battle it out in laser tag or beat the clock in the escape room. Kids will love the H20 Zone splash park, themed around the movie Madagascar.

For a little wellness on the water, check out the Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Centre. Book in for a treatment, relax in the thermal lounge, sweat it out in the saunas or burn some calories in the gym. Afterwards, retreat to the calm of the adults’ only Solarium pool and hot tubs.

There are at least 20 dining options across the ship. The main dining room, buffet and a number of casual eateries are included in your fare, or you can splash out at a signature restaurant like Chops Grill steakhouse, Jamie’s Italian, Izumi Japanese, Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine and Chef’s Table.

When it’s time for a drink, grab a beer at the pool bar, have those robots make you a cocktail at the Bionic Bar or dance to the live band at Latin-themed Boleros. Night-time entertainment includes showstopping performances in the high-tech Two70, Las Vegas-style revues, silent discos, live music, comedy and more.

Staterooms are the largest in the Royal Caribbean International fleet, so all 4,905 passengers have room to relax. There’s also a huge range of options, from interior cabins with virtual balconies to two-bedroom family rooms and multi-level loft suites.
